Nearly ten years ago I was feeling stressed, tired, overwhelmed, depressed and anxious. I couldn’t shake these feelings no matter how much sleep I got, or how I changed my diet. I was burnt out and not feeling any better, despite all the health and food information I was reading on the internet.
EACH DAY I FELT MORE FRIGHTENED I WAS GOING TO FEEL THIS BAD FOREVER
I was developing new allergies, the psoriasis that had plagued me since my teens was out of control, I had brain fog.Yet as a Mum to four autistic children, I couldn’t go on like this and neither could they. They were starting to repeat the health patterns of my childhood with persistent rashes, allergies, asthma, and anxiety.
Getting through a day at school was a struggle that left them exhausted and overwhelmed. I needed to support them through life and help them to thrive. Most of all, we weren’t enjoying life as a family. I couldn’t let them grow up like this.
SO I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT
With the support of a Naturopath I said goodbye to feeling tired, depressed and anxious. Now I have energy to burn! Getting out of bed in the morning isn’t a problem and I can cope with stressful situations.
AND A NEW PASSION WAS BORN
As a result of our experience with Naturopathy and how it changed our family’s health and vitality, my desire to help other families achieve wellness and be their best was triggered. And so I started studying a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy at the Southern School of Natural Therapies. (Studying with small children, what was I thinking?!)
VIBRANT HEALTH SHOULDN’T BE HARD
I chose to become a Naturopath because I realised the importance of what we eat and what we do for our physical and mental health. Naturopathy recognises the body as an integrated whole (instead of a bunch of systems working independently), with an inherent ability to heal. There is not a quick fix or a pill for each ill.
I passionately believe in healing as a process that differs for each and every one of us – we are all unique with inherent strengths and nurture points. I can show you which herbs, supplements, and natural approaches to lifestyle and food really work to support your body’s natural healing ability. Along with how to use them safely and effectively, so you can reclaim your health and wellness.
HEALTH AND VITALITY FOR YOUR FAMILY
Give your kids the life they should have – one full of good health, energy and the ability to concentrate and learn. Don’t let stress, overwhelm, burnout or anxiety stop you or your children from living life with energy and vitality. Most of all, be empowered to take control of your family’s wellness and reach your health goals.
All you have to do is book a time to see me. I’ll help you through the rest with practical, easy-to-achieve steps to wellness that are personalised to you, your family, and your lifestyle.
Why the name Akeso Health?
Akeso (A-keh-so) was the Greek Goddess of the healing process (her sisters were Hygeia and Panacea). Naturopathy recognises the body as an integrated whole, with an inherent ability to heal. There is not a quick fix or a pill for each ill. I passionately believe in healing as a process and that this process differs for each and every one of us. We are unique with unique needs, capacity and abilities.
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a holistic healthcare system that assesses and supports your physical, mental and emotional wellness. This is personalised healthcare. Specifically for and about YOU, your strengths, your health goals, how you can feel better and support you in enjoying life.
Naturopathy is underpinned by six principles:
- ‘Vis medicatrix naturae’ – the healing power of nature. Trust in the body’s inherent wisdom and ability to heal itself.
- ‘Tolle causam’ – identify and treat the causes.
- ‘Primum non nocere’ – first do no harm. Utilize the most natural, least invasive and least toxic therapies to facilitate the body’s natural ability to heal.
- ‘Docere’ – Naturopath as teacher. Educate patients in the steps to achieve and maintain health.
- ‘Tolle totum’ – Treat the whole person. Health and disease are a balance between physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, social, familial, and occupational factors.
- ‘Preventare’ – prevention. Focus on overall health, wellness and disease prevention.
What are you waiting for? Let’s reclaim your family’s health. Starting now.
